The Method of Modern Movement originally began as a class and was later developed into a method designed to enhance other dance and fitness classes

THE ORIGEN & EVOLUTION OF MOMM
MoMM Mat is a conditioning class that guides participants through a flow of movements, emphasizing proper posture and body alignment. The continuous movement flow targets enhancing breath, stability, flexibility, strength, and technique.
Sisters Janelle and Jocelyn Ordiales were inspired by their love for classical dance and fitness. After over a decade of dedicated training in various dance and fitness styles, they combined their passion and ambition to create a class that blends dance technique, conditioning, and stretching—all in one!
MoMM Mat blends fitness with the core principles of classical dance techniques, infused with a Latin flair that honors Janelle and Jocelyn's heritage.
The MoMM class offers a fresh approach for communities seeking to tone their bodies and maintain a healthy physique through movement. It is designed to strengthen the body, improve alignment, and teach the fundamentals of dance in a distinctive way.
What started as a class has now evolved into Method of Modern Movement—a brand and lifestyle.
MoMM Mat Class Structure
Class begins in a circle symbolizing unison and encouragement. We start with a warm-up jog around the room, followed by a flow of conditioning movements and exercises on the mat.
The second part of class changes in each class. It is structured based on the students’ needs and desires; it would consist any of the following three elements: 1. Modern dance combinations and exercises 2. Bands and ballet barre or floor 3. Deep stretches and meditation (MoMM Stretch).
Latin music in the mix brings an element of high energy and positive vibes. MoMM's energy is inviting and rejuvenating. You'll feel more in tune with your body by the end of class. MoMM is our signature class and we offer two levels MoMM.
MoMM Stretch
While Spanish guitar softly plays in the background, you’ll connect to your breath and body, and disconnect to the outside world. MoMM Stretch is a feel good class that starts off with a standing siesta then goes to a floor flow. This class incorporates fluid moves from head to toe while adding some conditioning exercises to circulate blood flow and oxygen throughout the body. This class is both relaxing and rejuvenating while working your stretch to the max
